Nestled within the community of Spynie and bordered by the enchanting Quarrel Woods, Stramash Elgin Nursery offers children endless opportunities for adventure and exploration. Conveniently located in Moray, we welcome children from Elgin, Forres, Findhorn, Burghead, Hopeman, Lossiemouth, Buckie, and Fochabers.

Our passionate and experienced practitioners support and encourage children in their learning and development. We achieve learning outcomes and milestones by planning in the moment and extending each child’s learning based on their interests. This child-led pedagogy fosters curious and resilient learners with high self-esteem and strong well-being.
Learning Through Play
At Stramash Elgin, children learn through play and are guided to develop skills to risk assess their environment and activities, ensuring their safety and comfort—both physically and emotionally. This approach helps them build emotional literacy, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

Session Times:
- Morning: 8:30am – 1pm
- Short Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Long Day: 8:30am – 5:30pm
- Afternoon: 1pm – 5:30pm
- 8am Breakfast Club: Available with advance booking as additional wrap-around service
Operating Hours and Ages
We operate Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year, and cater to children aged 2-5 years. Both funded and non-funded spaces are available.
