Registration season is almost here again folks! It’s safe to say that in terms of actually registering with us and your local councils for funding, this year will be another online year with a largely ‘digital registration’ process – do not worry, we can absolutely help you complete all the online forms and get you set up with your sessions and funding.
We have our wonderful new videos on all our nursery pages, giving you chance to see the nurseries from the comfort of your home & we’re hoping to still be able to invite you on site in a safe and pre-booked way but of course this will depend on the government guidance and our councils advice nearer the time. We will keep you posted and update this page.
If you’re considering Stramash for your childs early years, we currently have a range of options available to you:
- Book an in person visit to your local Stramash – meet the team, see the site and chat more about what we do, available sessions and the registration process – C19 protocol in place to keep everyone safe, we’ll give you all the details when you get in touch
- Book a phone call with one of our nursery heads – talk through the process and ask us anything!
- Book a virtual video tour – where our nursery head will give you the guided tour of the site and chat more about what we do. You can ask any questions you may have and see the environment your child will be experiencing – video calling required
- Email us for more info – relevant links etc

What is registration season?
Children born between 1st March 2019 and 29th Feb 2020 are eligible for government funded childcare – we have some info on when, how many hours, blended placements and how it all works across the different councils here: https://stramash.org.uk/1140-funded-spaces/
Registration season is a time for families to visit various nurseries, confirm a space at the setting/s of their choice and select the sessions they want their child to attend.
Non Funded Spaces
We also offer private spaces and you are welcome to register with us on a private space if your child is not yet eligible for funding or you need additional hours that exceed your allocation.
This normally relates to 2 year olds – We accept children from 2 years of age at our Elgin, Fort Willam and Tornagrain (Inverness East) nurseries. Some 2 year olds will also be eligible for a funded space – you can see if you meet the criteria from your local councils website.
